News & Reviews:
3-11-07  Went and saw 300 by Frank Miller. It was like Sin City in that it was like reading the comic book. Was very well done and followed closely to the comic series. 4 out of  5 stars.

2-20-07  Managed to see Ghost Rider over the weekend.. I wasn't expecting much from a "B" comic hero so wasn't really disappointed. Some good special effects and some not so good. It was even boring is some parts. It's not a SpiderMan movie by all means but also isn't as bad as Catwoman was either.   2 maybe 2 1/2 stars out of 5. (Hope this helps, Ron)

6-27-05  Saw the new Batman Begins movie today. Very good! Probably the best Batman flick so far. Origin was changed a little and new characters added but all in all very enjoyable. Looking forward to the DVD with all it's extra stuff! Even if you have never seen or read a Batman comic book I would recommend seeing it. 4 out of 5 stars in my book!

5-?-05  Star Wars Episode 3, better than Episodes 1 and 2 but not as good as 4 and 5.  First half was so slow I had to wake up my wife sitting next to me and tell her the second half would get better(thanks DVD Screener). Only part I thought should have been left out of the second half was the Darth Vader/Frankenstein part. Please... Dialogue was poor, acting by some was poor, music and special effects were great. All in all I would have to say 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.

4-4-05  Went and saw Sin City today.  Very good overall.  Wouldn't recommend it for persons not familiar with the comics though unless extreme violence is not a problem.  I have only read the original series myself so cannot judge whether or not it followed all of the series true to form.  Mickey Rourke was excellent as Marv but I was a tad disappointed that Jessica Alba didn't allow for nudity as to be true to her character, stripper Nancy Callahan.

7-1-04  Saw Spiderman 2 today....  Awesome!!  Better than the 1st even! The critics will have a difficult time finding any faults with this one. I was even critical of the Green Goblin's mask in the original but Doc Ock in this movie is outstanding. There were a couple of slow moments in the beginning but all in all it's a solid 4 or 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

3-9-04  Just returned from the Portland Comic Convention. It was very good this year. All of the guest creators were very friendly and accommodating.  Especially great was Shi creator Billy Tucci. He signed anything and everything for all who were willing to wait in his line which never seemed to end.  Hopefully we will see more of Mr. Tucci in the future at the Portland Con since he has taken his next Shi mini series to our very own Dark Horse Comics. He expressed interest to me of doing a Shi/Grendel crossover with Matt Wagner for Dark Horse Comics. You heard it here first. Congrats go out to Richard for putting on another very fine convention.

9-17-03  We have moved the shop. The new location is 2048 Sherman Ave. North Bend Oregon 97459.  The phone number, website and e-mail addresses will remain the same. It is right around the corner form the original location. It is a better location for high visibility due to it being right on Highway 101 South.  We will open in the new location on Friday 9-19-03.

6-22-03  The Hulk Movie was good as long as the Hulk was in it.  The CGI effects were well done the majority of the time.  I thought that the Nick Nolte character, David Banner, could have been left out. Also I felt that Nick Nolte overacted the part.  Betty Ross never looked better, and  Eric Bana did a good job as Bruce Banner.

5-4-03  Just saw the second X-Men movie..... Great, better than the first one even! Nightcrawler's teleporting was perfectly done. The trailer for the Hulk movie looked good as well, looking forward to that one also! Only 1 month to go!!

4-29-03  Just returned from the Wonder-Con down in California.  It was moved to San Francisco this year. It seemed a lot smaller than previous years. Still a very nice show though.  The autograph line for Jim Lee/Jeph Loeb was outrageously long. Didn't care to spend 3 hours in that line again..  Mark Texeira was in classic form as always, that guy is a riot. Not sure what he is on, but I sure could use some! Only 3 more days till X2!!

2-18-03  Daredevil movie... Awesome.  The movie followed the comic to a great degree and even surpassed it in explaining the problems that heightened hearing can bring.  Ben Affleck did a good job playing Daredevil even though I thought he would make a better Tony Stark (Iron Man) myself.  The movie was full of action with the fight scenes being well choreographed.  Lots of references and cameos for the comic geek to enjoy also.  For those of you who left when the movie was over and failed to remain through the credits missed a great Bullseye piece while in the hospital being irritated by a housefly.  I am now looking forward to the DVD and all of it's extras!

6-25-02  Just returned from the Portland Comic/Card Convention. It was a bit smaller than usual but was very good. Brian Michael Bendis and David Mack were very approachable and sincere. Thank you Richard for another great Con!

5-6-02  $114 Million!!! Amount the Spiderman Movie grossed over it's opening weekend!!  Nearly $40 Million!!  The amount it did on it's opening day!!  Both are new movie box office records!!!!  Now the question is, will Star Wars Episode 2 break those?  With Jar Jar Binks, I think not!  We shall see.

5-4-02  Saw the Spiderman movie yesterday on opening day!!  I thought the movie overall was outstanding, an A- grade if you would.  The only 2 weak spots I believe were the Green Goblin's mask not allowing Willem Defoe to show his talent of capturing the true essence of the Goblin during struggles with Spiderman, and the lack of  web swinging by a full costumed Spidey, as near the end of the movie. Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are both excellent as Peter Parker & Mary Jane Watson.

4-26-02  We attended last weekend's Wonder-Con down in the California Bay Area.  Click HERE for pictures!  Got sketches from John Romita Sr., Jim Lee, Mark Texeira, Ron Lim, & Sergio Aragones.  All in all we had a good time, despite the packed freeways, long autograph lines, etc.
